ROUND 08 — Offline App Feedback (VTDOH) Step 1 of 7 – Introduction 14% Thank you for your willingness to help us improve the USAFS Offline App!We’re designing a new way to view business maintenance records in the offline app. To make sure it works well for how you actually do your work, we need to understand how you currently use business information. There are no right or wrong answers – we just want to learn about your real experiences and needs. Time commitment: Approximately 15-20 minutes Please provide the following information about yourself or your team, then Click “BEGIN” to get started. Name(Required)Email(Required) Choose your agency:(Required)— Choose —Alaska Department Of Environmental ConservationArkansas Department of HealthIowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, & LicensingIllinois Department of Public HealthIndiana Department of HealthKansas Department of AgricultureMinnesota Department of AgricultureNorth Dakota Health & Human ServicesSouth Dakota Department of HealthVermont Department of HealthWest Virginia Department of AgricultureWyoming Department of AgricultureHow would you describe your role (or the roles of the people who are responding to this survey)?(Required)(check all that apply) Inspector Supervisor of Inspectors Inspector & Supervisor of Inspectors (dual role) None of the above Sorry, for this survey we are specifically looking for direct feedback from inspectors or supervisors of inspectors. If you know anyone in your agency in either of those roles – please share this link with them, we’d love their input: https://usafs.afdo.org/vtdoh/ TASK 1: Your current experience with business records Before we ask you some questions, we want to make sure we’re all thinking about the same page. The image below shows the current business record in USA Food Safety – this is the page you see after clicking on a record from the “Business Search” results. The questions below are about how you currently use this business maintenance page while working offline. We want to understand your actual work patterns so we can design the offline version to work well for you.Think about the last few times you looked up a business maintenance record while working offline. What were you typically trying to find out or accomplish?(Required)(select all that apply) Preparing for an upcoming inspection Following up after an inspection I completed Responding to a complaint Checking the business history before an enforcement action Looking up contact information Verifying the business/facility details or status Researching patterns across multiple inspections Something else (please describe below) Please describe what you were trying to accomplish:(Required)When you look up a business maintenance record, how many different pieces of information do you typically need to find to complete your task?(Required)(select one) Usually just one piece of information Typically two or three pieces of information Often four to six pieces of information Many pieces of information, often more than six It varies significantly depending on what I’m working on When you're looking for information in a business maintenance record, how familiar are you with where different types of information are located?(Required)(select one) I know exactly where to find almost any information I need I know where to find most information, but occasionally need to look around I know where to find some information, but often need to browse through the page I frequently need to search through the page to find what I’m looking for I’m still learning where different information is located Think about the last time you opened a business maintenance record. Walk us through what you did step by step – what were you looking for first, then what did you need next, and so on.(Required)There are no right or wrong answers, we just want to understand the order in which you typically need information. TASK 2: Understanding the business maintenance page In the current system, business information is organized into different sections. Each section contains related information. For example, all the inspection history is grouped together in one section, all the contact information is grouped together in another section, and so on. The specific section names vary slightly between states, but the idea is the same – similar information is kept together to help you find what you need. In the next question, we’ll show you the section names used in your state’s system.Below is a list of sections that appear on the business maintenance page in your state's system. Think about your work over the past year. Check each section that you have needed to use at least once during that time.(Required) License Inspection Schedule CFSM Risk Level Inspection Frequency Inspection Contact Info Internal Notes Complaints Lab Results Sample Select AllLooking at the section names you just checked, are there any where you weren't sure if that section contained the information you typically need?(Required) Task 3: Two ways to organize information Thank you for sharing information about how you currently work with business records. Now we’d like your input on how to organize information in the new offline app. We’re going to show you two different approaches and ask for your honest reaction to each. There are no right or wrong answers – we want to understand which approach would work better for the way you actually work. We’ll show you each approach one at a time, starting with the first approach below. First approach: All sections visible when you open the page The image below shows what the maintenance page could look like in the new offline app. In this example, you can see that when you open a record, all the sections are already expanded and visible on the page. While the image above only shows a few sections as an example (summary, inspection schedule, etc…), the actual maintenance page for your agency would include all 12 sections expanded and visible when you open the page. You would scroll down to see all the information.Based on what you see in the image above, when you first open a business record with this approach, how would the sections appear?(Required) All sections would be visible and open All sections would be closed until I open them I’m not sure Let’s clarify – with this first approach, all sections would be open and visible right away when you open a business record. Take another look at the image above and you’ll see that you can see information in multiple sections without clicking anything. Now let’s continue with the next questions about this approach. Now that you understand this approach, think about your typical workflow. Would having all sections expanded and visible when you first open a business record be helpful, or would it feel like too much information at once?(Required) Very helpful – I like seeing everything right away Somewhat helpful – it would save me time Neutral – I could work with it either way Somewhat overwhelming – I’d prefer to choose what to view Very overwhelming – I’d have trouble finding what I need If all sections were expanded and visible like this, what concerns (if any) would you have about using this page in your daily work?(Required)(select all that apply) It would take too long to scroll to find what I need I’d have trouble remembering where information is located on the page There would be too much information to look through It would be hard to focus on what’s relevant to my current task The page would load slowly or be difficult to use on my device I don’t have concerns about this approach Other (please describe) Other concerns if all sections were visible:Think about the sections you typically need to use in your work offline. If all sections were visible like the example above, which sections would you typically need to look at during a single visit to a business record?(check all sections you would typically view) License Inspection Schedule CFSM Risk Level Inspection Frequency Inspection Contact Info Internal Notes Complaints Lab Results Sample This field is hidden when viewing the formThink about the sections you typically need to use in your work offline. If all sections were visible like the example above, which sections would you typically need to look at during a single visit to a business record?(Required)(check all sections you would typically view) License Inspection Schedule CFSM Risk Level Inspection Frequency Inspection Contact Info Internal Notes Complaints Lab Results Sample Other Second approach: Sections start closed until you open them Another approach would start with sections collapsed (closed). The image below shows what this would look like: With this approach, you would see a list of section names when you first open a business record. You would click or tap on a section name to expand it and see the information inside. Only the sections you choose to open would be visible. With this approach, you would choose which sections to open based on what you need to see. Would this approach work well for how you typically use business records?(Required) All sections would be closed until I click to open them All sections would be open and visible right away Only some sections would be open I’m not sure Let’s clarify – with this second approach, all sections would be closed until you click to open them. Take another look at the image above and you’ll see just the section names listed. You would need to click on a section name to see the information inside. Now let’s continue with the next questions about this approach. Now that you understand this approach, think about your typical workflow. Would being able to choose which sections to open work well for how you use business records?(Required) Yes, this would work very well – I usually only need specific sections This would probably work well – I like being able to control what I see I’m not sure – I’d need to try it to know This probably wouldn’t work well – I’d spend too much time opening sections No, this wouldn’t work well – I need to see information right away If sections started closed like this, what concerns (if any) would you have about using this page in your daily work?(Required)(select all that apply) I might not realize there’s important information in a section unless I open it It would take too much time clicking to open all the sections I need I might forget which sections I’ve already checked I wouldn’t know which section contains the information I’m looking for I’d lose my place on the page when opening and closing sections I don’t have concerns about this approach Other (please describe) Other concerns if all sections were closed:With this approach where you choose which sections to open, which sections would you typically need to open during a single visit to a business record?(Required)(check all sections you would typically open) License Inspection Schedule CFSM Risk Level Inspection Frequency Inspection Contact Info Internal Notes Complaints Lab Results Sample Task 4: Finding specific information quickly To help you find specific sections quickly, there would be a dropdown menu that you can use to jump directly to any section. The image below shows where this menu would be located and what it would look like when opened. How useful would this dropdown menu be for the way you work with business records?(Required) Very useful – I’d use this frequently Somewhat useful – I’d use it sometimes Neutral – I might or might not use it Not very useful – I’d probably just scroll Not useful at all – I don’t understand what it’s for Imagine you've just opened a business record and you need to view information about past inspections for this business. Using the page design you've seen, how would you find the inspection information? Select what you would do first:(Required) Use the dropdown menu to jump to the Inspections section Scroll down the page until I find the Inspections section If sections are closed, click on the section that seems most likely to contain inspection information Use the search box at the top of the page I’m not sure how I would do this Other (please describe) Is there anything else about how you look up and use business information that would help us design this page to work better for you?Would you like to share any general feedback about the screens you saw today? Yes No If yes, please give your feedback below:
